NW Nonprofit Capacity Report

Washington Nonprofits is proud to partner with the four other northwest state nonprofit associations to release a comprehensive study on the capacity, strengths, and challenges of the region’s nonprofit sector. The 2016 Northwest Nonprofit Capacity Report: Our Strengths – Our Challenges – Our Resilience was developed using survey data from over 1,000 nonprofits in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. The report highlights the progress nonprofits are making in creating a resilient sector.

The U.S. Department of Labor's overtime rule is an important policy change that is an example of a nationwide trend to improve employment conditions for America's workers. These changes are significant and will be difficult for some nonprofit employers. Nonprofit Employment Data from BLS
The charitable nonprofit sector employed at least 11.4 million people in 2012, representing 10.3 percent of total non-military employment, according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) covering years 2007 to 2012.
